2026년 1월 15일 – 2월 28일 서울시 종로구 북촌로 5길 15, B1 BROWN SPECTRUM #02 <두 개의 집>은 UMBER POSTPAST와 자연염색 공방 느티나무가 오랜 시간에 걸쳐 함께해온 작업에서 출발한 전시입니다. UMBER POSTPAST의 자연염색 원단이 만들어지는 가장 처음의 시간부터 이어져 온 협업을 바탕으로, 서로 다른 공간에서 작업해온 두 곳은 각자의 집을 중심으로 관계를 축적해왔습니다. 이번 전시는 자연염색이라는 전통적 기술과 브랜드의 감각이 만나 만들어내는 물성과 그 과정에 주목합니다. 염색이라는 작업에 담긴 시간성과 지역성을 통해 한 사람의 삶의 궤적을 들여다보고, 그 시간이 UMBER POSTPAST의 작업 세계와 어떻게 교차하는지를 살펴봅니다. 전시의 중심에는 김대균, 정경옥 선생님의 손에서 태어난 색과, 이를 받아들이고 해석하는 UMBER POSTPAST 디렉터 조성민의 시선이 교차하며 형성된 하나의 ‘집’이 놓여 있습니다. 이 ‘집’은 결과물 이전에, 손의 반복과 시간의 축적을 통해 만들어진 관계의 형태를 상징합니다. 전시는 브랜드와 장인, 도시와 지방, 사람과 물건, 기획과 손의 경계를 유연하게 넘나들며, 색이라는 공통 언어를 통해 새로운 연결을 제안합니다. 서로 다른 두 개의 집에서 출발한 시간과 감각은 이 전시를 통해 하나의 서사로 이어집니다.

January 15 – February 28, 2026 B1, 15 Bukchon-ro 5-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul BROWN SPECTRUM #02 <Two Houses> originates from the long-standing collaboration between UMBER POSTPAST and the natural dye studio Neutinamu. Beginning at the earliest moments when UMBER POSTPAST’s naturally dyed fabrics come into being, the two have built their relationship over time from different spaces, each rooted in their own “house.” This exhibition focuses on the materiality and processes created at the intersection of traditional natural dyeing techniques and the brand’s contemporary sensibility. Through the temporality and locality embedded in the act of dyeing, it traces the trajectory of a life, and examines how this accumulated time intersects with UMBER POSTPAST’s creative world. At the heart of the exhibition lies a single “house", formed through the crossing of colors born from the hands of master artisans Kim Daegyun and Jung Gyeongok, and the perspective of UMBER POSTPAST director Cho Sung-min, who receives and reinterprets them. This “house” symbolizes not a finished result, but a form of relationship shaped through repetition of the hand and the accumulation of time. Moving fluidly across the boundaries between brand and artisan, city and region, people and objects, planning and the hand, the exhibition proposes new connections through color as a shared language. Time and sensibility that began in two separate houses are woven into a single narrative through this exhibition.
